Nolendorfplatz is the historic gay district in Berlin where in the 1920s queer expression and vibrance was allowed to flourish. Many gay and lesbian bars stayed open and unbothered by police raids. Probably due to the fact there where persistent rumors that the police chief himself was queer. Queer debauchery filled the city, clubs like the Iconic Eldorado had what we would call drag performances now and there where cross dressing parties where women would go out dressed to the nines in tuxedos. Sadly this was all brought to an end when Hitler came to power. The influence of this time is still felt today with the foundation of how we understand queer identity being laid then. A testament to the fact that no matter how many books they burn or how they persecute us we will rise.
A boozy cocktail of cognac, peach, honey and herbs dominates the top of the fragrance. As it dries down rich maple syrup, leather, and the hazy atmosphere of the lounge start to come through. This is a true and dynamic gourmand that is as grounded as it is sweet.
